Car Died, all CELs Illuminated
#27
They just called back. Turns out one of the fuses I tapped was not for the interior lights...which i thought it was....turns out it was for the immobilizer. Needless to say that caused the new PCM to **** a brick.
I'll get the car in a hour. Thank God.

Got the car back...but the stock map does not like my AP pulley. So it stalls while idling...
Now I tried to put my MM map back on it...but my AP just gave me a fatal error. This is getting terrible.
Anyone know what I should do from here. Everyone seems to just send their AP's back to Cobb, but i got mine 2nd hand.

id swap the stock pulley back on and make sure everything's kosher before looking at other things, just in case. unless the issue with your pulley is known, im not into the rx8 aftermarket much

Then start it and see what happens, go for a little drive, and don't shut it off cold.
If your needle doesn't sweep when you do the brake tap, then turn the car off for a few seconds and try it again.
This reset the E-shaft profile and is common that this needs to be done after installing that pulley. Maybe when they reset the PCM it set it all the way back???????

Thx again swoope!
Good news, im pretty confident that my ECU has adjusted for the AP Pulley and all. This morning, my car didn't hunt for idle at all. Which makes me a happy panda.

3000 mi later, IT HAPPENED AGAIN! I checked all fuses, none burned. I reset the ECU cables, nothing. And I reconnected the battery terminals...nothing.
Tow truck is on its way...again

I found the codes that were illumiated. I read these from my AP:
PCM U0073
PCM U0121
PCM U0155
IC U1900
IC U2516
EPS U1900
EPS U0073
RKE U1900
TPMS U1900
TPMS U2516
I know U0073 is a CAN communication error...which isn't good...
I'm thinking it has something to do with some harness coming loose or fraying.

Thx Oscar, no updates yet. They were supposed to have the new ABS module in today...but I haven't heard anything. I just found all of the shop manuals so I might try and see wtf is going on myself.

Thx Jeff, I'll take some time this weekend to break out my multimeter and check the grounds out.
I still feel that it is a wiring harness that is bad. Because it has only happened like 1% of the time i drive the car. But I am running the car hard when it goes...
