Car Died on Highway Help.
Was driving on the highway home yesterday and car suddenly dropped to 3k rpms. Pulled into the emergency lane and the car stopped accelerating, once i came to a stop the car died. Wouldnt start up again for an hr and once it did the engine light came on and it died again doing the same thing. I have a 04 MT w/ 56k miles. Thanks.

lol, nah i had gas in it at the time this happened.
i dont recall the last time i changed my coils, but the plugs probably need a replacement. i believe it's been near/over 10k miles on the current ones.

Sounds like you went into limp mode.
Perhaps Vapor lock? Open up gas tank cap. (Still need to reset ECU)
Are you sure your not out of gas? If you are at 1/4 tank and do a radical turn you can cause fuel starvation and go into limp mode.
Anyhow, check the battery. Reset the ECU.
The codes will clear and let you drive the car.
No need to replace terminals/cables unless they are corroded.
Car will not come to a stop if you have bad plugs.

okay here's an update, so went down to autozone to get the battery checked and it came back bad. so i purchased a new battery and terminals. installed both and the car still doesnt start. could the engine possibly be flooded due to trying to start it when the incident happened?
atm its currently hooked up to another power source while i deflood it, took about an hr last time i had to deflood.

You might want to take it to the dealer.
Your issue sounds far more complex than a simple battery, alternator, or even coils. Have you had the MSP16 flash performed on your car per the TSB? Do you premix? What gas were you running in the car?
It sounds to me like you're losing compression (hard start or no start) and you may very well be dealing with catastrophic damage. Only the dealer will be able to tell you that.
The good thing is that all owners have had their engine core warranty extended to 8 years / 100,000 miles. So your engine is at least covered!
