Car died while driving it now it wont start

first off i have a 2004 rx8 gt with a greddy turbo properly tuned. I was driving my car and i stopped at the gas station and when i was leaving i shifted to first then second then third and then it died. i checked spark, compression, fuel, replaced coils, wires, plugs, and fuel pump, when i try to start it the engine wines then backfires a little. I cannot get it to start any help would be appreciated.

How many miles have you had the turbo on, are you running a boost gauge, A/F gauge? do you have a blow off valve? do you have any of the greddy fixes done to the kit? Are you running the stock ignition?

Etc Etc...

The stock greddy kit is complete and utter ****. Luckily it only takes about $1500 to make it a proper one.

^Doesn't sound like the OP knows what has been done to the car. Just a list of added parts.

OP, try reading through the Major Horsepower Upgrades forum. Pay particular attention to the stickies.

yeah i bought the car because it wouldn't start and i called the dealer it has a re-manufactured engine done in nov 2007. I put a compression tester in all of the spark plug hole and none of them are jumping the needle. followed the method here.

Impossible...

You did the test wrong, unless you poped several apex seals.

Did you hear any loud noises when you made that 2nd to third shift?

None of the faces jump the needle?
Did you have the spark plugs in all the holes except the one being tested?

It should be fairly hard to turn the engine even if all the seals are destroyed... but I kind of think you are trolling at this point.

yes i did have the plugs in. i used two different compression testers to make sure one was not bad. both read zero. i also had spark, and fuel. like i said i would roll the car over and not get anything. every now and then you would here i would get compression and back fire. im not trolling anyone. like i said i am new to rotarys. also with the plugs out and rolling over nothing push out the hole. and you also couldnt hear it fire it the engine. it sounded like this.

It's a bit unusual for none of the faces to show compression... there are 6, they can't all fail at the same time unless there's a hole in the block. If you weren't in 4th gear when it happened, I'd say it sounds more like a flood... Are there any CEL codes?

What do you plan to do now that you have the engine out?

What fuel pump is in the car? Do you hear the fuel pump working at any point while cranking? They're known to fail you know..

so i have the engine out and i am waiting for a bigger impact to show up to remove the eccentric shaft bolt and flywheel bolt. i have posted a video of the finding through the spark plug hole. The reason it had no compression. This is a re-manufactured engine i guess was put in by the dealer.

Yeap, once that apex seal pops that is the end of the line for that engine.

you might be better better off getting an engine from a builder, sometimes those mazda remans fail quickly.

I only say that because I think you are out of warranty. If you are a engine from a quality builder would be the best route to go

I'm more surprised that you didn't even realize a the seals were fawkered!
I cried after that video...

Just to recap- you're positive it was properly tuned? What boost were you running?

Without gauges for FI applications, you're pretty much playing with fire
