Car idled until fuel gone, battery dead....
Jumped in my beloved 2005 RX8, with 120K miles, to shuffle cars in the drive.
Well aware of the flooding issue and it was cold... I left her running in the drive to warm up. Yes, you guessed... forgot...
Next morning... battery dead and run out of gas... recharged battery and 4 gallons of fuel, she started right up... but in limp mode. Makes me sick...
What are my priorities:
Reset ECUs
Check Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
??
Does anyone know if she will go into limp mode before running out of gas?
Just freaking stupid but it is... what it is...
Thanks for any help in advance!!

Oh wow - was bound to happen to someone i guess - i bet you are not the first to do this . Maybe the first to admit to it though
No idea what has happened and how to fix sorry . Try the 30 brake pedal tap dance maybe.

Should be ok after a reset or two.
The battery going very low will upset the ECU a lot.
The battery would go dead pretty quick after the engine stops, and too quick to hurt the fuel pump.
