Car power/electronics goes off and resets?

Hi. I'm currently have problems with my 2004 8 6-speed MT. When I'm about to start up the car after putting the key in, the power and electronics in the car just shuts off. I hear a click before this happens.

I then open the hood of the car, to check the battery. Everything's connected. I go back into the car, and the power is back again. I can start up the car fine, and there are no problems. All the electronics are reset, so I have to turn on the traction control again, reset the clock, sound equalizer, etc.

However, it's happened 3 times to me already at random. This doesn't happen when I'm driving (thank god), but I'm curious about what might be the cause of this. It's becoming a problem now, and I don't know what component might be the problem.

I changed the battery earlier this year in February, so I know the battery is still fairly new.

I would take it to the nearby dealer, but I'm currently located in Puerto Rico, where Spanish is not my primary language. If I know the problem, I can then just tell the dealer to check whatever is wrong instead of getting them to do the guess-work.

So is it the battery? electronics? ignition key slot? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
