hi there im new to the site and have just got my first rx8 what a car its amazing but it has been playing up last few days its had a missfire a bad one so i pluged the computer into it and it came up with the code P0171 something to do with running lean, so checked plugs they were working, coils working etc on ignition side of things. just unplugged my maf sensor and it reved without any missfire but still idled horrible is my maf sensor broken? or would it clean up ok as there alot of money new and dont want to waste money if there is nothing wrong with it. has anyone elsehad this problem or know what else the code stands for any help would be much appreciated.

 

Check for vacuum leaks around the MAF (or anywhere really)
When were the ignition coils last changed?
Can we get a summary history of the car?

 

car has done 47 k with full mazda s/h up to now i dont noi when coils were changed but they all work acording to a garage chears
