Car Sputtering And Died - Fuel Pump ?

Driving down the road and the car starts to sputter and won't take gas very well.
Nurse it down the road. Dies. Starts back up, sputters dies. Finally makes it to gas station because I suspected fuel issue. Fill it full of gas and it doesn't do it again.
I had AT LEAST a quarter tank of gas left.
Plugs coils and wires all have around 10,000 miles on them.
I have a high flow rp supercat that's been on probably 5000 miles so I don't think that its clogged?
Sound like a fuel pump to you guys?
If so, where is the best and cheapest place to get one and should I look for an oem one or is there an aftermarket one that I should look at getting.
Thanks - Logan.

If it truly is the fuel pump, then I think I'd go this route.

You might wanna read through this thread first. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-clean-tank-sock-filter-164287/

I'm only saying either of these two things based on the limited data that you gave. It very well might be something else, but don't know from what you have said.

Don't be so quick to guess when your symptom is popular with other failed components too.
Unless you like blindly spending money...
I would check the easy stuff first like spark to the spark plugs.
If you're getting spark, you can (basically) rule out plugs, wires, and coils.
Then we can move on from there.
Also, have you received a CEL?

No CEL.
Drove it again today to the gym and it was fine. Not a miss the entire way there and back. This is the second time it has started missing when I was less than 1/4 full of gas. The last time was several months ago.

Maybe your fuel tank sensor isn't reading properly

You might think you have a 1/4 tank...but the car might not

You could get a gas can...and drive it till it runs out and see what the gauge reads just to make sure

The pumps are crap though and failing is common...especially for track driving when you need the max output from the pump

I usually put a little over 13 gallons in it but I barely put 12 in it that time so I figured it was right. I think i might just wait it out and see if it happens again before I buy a new pump.

Does it act like its running out of gas? The reason I ask is because I had the same problem. When it would start getting too 1/4 of a tank if I slam the gas, the rpms would drop and I would lose power eventually shutting off. So I took out my fuel pump and clean the fuel sock inside (it was dirty as ****) and it runs 100% better now. I would have horrible gas mileage too before i did this. I put seafoam in there too.
