Hi
I have 2008 231 with almost 60k on the clock, mainly when the engine is cold I get a rattle/chattering sound.
Does anyone have this sound? I suspend is it the ssv chattering, perhaps a clean maybe in order?

If it's rattling from the house right side then is likely just the heat shield around the cat. I think the ssv is more of a methodic tick.

 

Check the motor mount too....and there is a bracket from the manifold to the tranny that comes loose too
