Cigarette fuse causes engine to not idle
Last week I found my cigarette fuse blown after I had to jump start my car. When I replaced the fuse, I started my car and it immediately died. When the car attempted to idle, the car basically shuts off. It isn't a rough idle, it acts like I turned the key off. If I give it gas the car will still run fine though, it is just dies when I'm not giving it gas. If I pull out the fuse, the car will idle fine.
I have had a sub hooked up for around 6 months and had no problems with it. The remote line for my sub is run to the cigarette lighter in the front. I checked the connection there and it was alright. I also checked all of the connections on my amp/sub/capacitor. I thought it may have been a bad ground wire, but they are all still connected well and hasn't changed since I originally wired it.
Any thoughts on what might be causing my issue? My next plan is to unplug the sub and see if that is what was causing the problem.

You are correlating the wrong things.
If there is indeed a connection between your idle issue and the cigarette socket fuse, they are both being affected by the same thing. Your cigarette socket fuse has no impact on the car's ability to idle.
However, alternator failure could affect both.
Grounding problems can affect both.
Voltage spikes can affect both.
etc...
A rough idle can be caused by ignition failure, failing motor mounts, vacuum leak, bad O2 sensor, grounding problem, fuel trims reset and unlearned.
The room fuse blowing or disconnecting, or a battery disconnection or dead battery, will reset the fuel trims, causing a rough idle for a few drive cycles... (sound like it would fit anything recently?)
Sometimes it's the simple solution, not something obscure.

True. I wasn't entirely sure why the battery was dead in the first place. (Left it for a few days and went out of town; didn't find any lights on or obvious reasons)
I wasn't thinking of it as a rough idle, more of a no idle. The fuel trims were reset since I disconnected the battery while messing with the wires, so I expected that.
Definitely shouldn't rule out anything though, you are right. Thanks for the insight.
