Clunking in rear
I am the original owner of an 04 with 61000 miles. Recently I have been hearing a clunking noise from the passenger rear. The sound is magnified in the car. I made my wife drive while I stuck my head out the window and the noise is much louder in the car than outside. The noise appears to go in sequence with the tire rotation. I can hardly hear it around 30 miles per hour but when I get under that and come to a stop or take off at a light, I can tell it goes with the tire rotation. I have a feeling it has to do with the CV axle but wanted more opinions.
Do not treat me like a noob and tell me to search harder on this HUB. I am asking and if you dont want to help than dont reply. If I find that this is a duplicate than I will erase the thread.
TIA.

I should of also indicated that the sound is made regardless if I am turning or going straight. Also by the sound of it, it makes one clunk noise per tire rotation.

Follow up to my question. Question was answered when I had the wife watch my wheel as I drove on the drive way. The answer is my P.O.S. Rims. Aftermarket Centerline RPMs.
The one where the sound was coming from had broke clear through the spoke which mad a clapping sound every rotation. Two other rims have cracks that havent made it all the way through.
I had done a check online for anyone else having these issues and sure enough found one. No warranty since these started breaking nine years in and I believe the warranty said two or three years. Oh well. Had to go purchase new rims. Thanks for your reply

Hi there, I see you came up with a solution to this. However it seems that I don't know enough about my car to know what you came up with. I am having what seems to be the exact same symptoms with my car right now. So if possible, could you explain what is happening and what I need to do in the simplest terms you can come up with? Thanks. This has happened similarly to a previous car of mine and we found that it was one of the brake shoes that had broken. But it doesn't look like it was the same case with yours. Awaiting your reply. Thanks.
