This is a common problem with many RX-8s. No one sells a stronger "factory" bracket, but you can buy a reinforced (welded) version of the stock bracket from Charles R. Hill here on the forum (his company is called BHR). He is great to deal with.

Ask Charles for one of his pedals as said. They are stock reinforced pedals ( they are not just thicker) and cost something around $375. I know that you won't be disappointed

This also happended to me last week ... I made my own thread about it too.
Im going to file through NHTSA as well.
I had to order a new clutch bracket, Mine was broken pretty bad.
And I'm going to have a local welder re-inforce the new one before I put it on tommorow.

Yeah, I'd rather not have this problem repeated so I'll take the extra step.
I'll take pictures for you guys.

everyone who has this problem/ is worried about this problem:

if you live close enough to knoxville TN to drive to me, bring it on by and i'll weld it, no charge.

or if you want to ship it and pay all shipping fees, then be my guest.

either way, i'll weld it for free.

Is that a Mazsport kit? I need one bad and fast. NASA starts in a couple weeks and I'd like to get this done before Willow Springs.

Is the install pretty easy Silver?

Senna, I had mine welded first then put the bracket on. The trick is to make sure the bracket is snugly and perfectly in place with the temporary templates. I used a vice to clamp down on mine. You have to drill a hole through both sides of the clutch bracket. If you do it correctly, everything will line up properly but if you half *** it and just set it down on a table, you may have problems with alignment when you try to put it back in. My welds were a little large which made me have to work on them a little for the bracket to fit on it properly. But all said and done, I've been very happy. I think welds can do the trick alone, especially if additional support are added like on Ray's. I'm really glad I put the extra bracket on, simply because it really firms up the entire clutch assembly.
