Clutch Burning After Full Replacement
Hey guys, I just had my Clutch, and flywheel replaced by a mechanic. I used the Exedy 10812 clutch and a ACT Streetlite Xact Flywheel 600145. The mechanic said it smells like burnt clutch when i went to pick it up and said when i drive it let him know if it keeps smelling. Well it is, he did not adjust my pedal could that be the issue?

Hmmmm clutches work the same regardless of car. It's a pretty simple system. If it's burning, it's slipping. It's slipping because it's poorly aligned or the pedal is poorly adjusted. There's really not a heck of a lot options here... if it were me, I'd bite the bullet, take the trans back out and go over my work again. It's going to suck for him, but he's the mechanic here, not you.

get some backbone, take it back, and insist he either fix it or refund your money for the labor charges. If you paid by CC then you also have the option of refuting the charges with them until it’s repaired properly.
