clutch help?
hello. i am a new member, and the rx8 is my first car. i learned to drive stick when 3 years ago in a different car and got the rx8 used as my first car.
took be about a month to get used to the power band and the way the car drove but after a while i got a hang of it. and once i did i really saw how wonderful the car was. i am not going to lie i do have fun with the car, hard launches, drifting around, racing a camaro, and the like. it is a daily driver but i do abuse it a bit.
the car originally had 111,000 miles on it. now it has 114k and today as i drove home from school i noticed what i am pretty sure is the clutch slipping. i would accelerate with the clutch engaged and my foot off of it, and my rpms rise and the car does not pick up speed very quickly at all. then when i let go of the throttle the engine speed quickly snaps back to the original rpms. i stopped by the dealer and i had to pay $98 for a diagnostic. i did not have $98 dollars so i left.
i feel that its my clutch that is just worn down. is it possible that i could have done that in 3k miles? what should i do to repair it? aftermarket or stock? or is it not the clutch at all? https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
i am a newbie and really any tips and advice would help. i love my 8 as much as you guys do. thanks
