Clutch not fully disengaging, pedal and fluid ok
Hello
My RX-8 is: 2006 make, 231HP, 6-speed manual, at 119.600km's (74.000 miles) engine and gearbox in mint condition. (UPDATE: The clutch kit was replaced 10.000 km's before)
For the last 5 or 6 months, when I tried set it into the 1st gear, my RX-8 has been making a slight "dink" sound. By "dink", I mean it 's very slightly moving forward but without any grinding sound from the gearbox so I kept on using it for months w.o. much problem.
Last week on a very rainy Sunday afternoon, I drove across water puddles on the road at high speed, i.e. water must have splashed onto every part at the bottom of the car. No problem that day, I parked it at night.
3 days later on a cold Wednesday night, after I started to drive the car it I noticed the gearbox had become very stiff, but it would still change gears. I also noticed after driving several km's it became easier, so I parked it w.o. any trouble.
The following day, on Thursday afternoon after I started to drive it I noticed a faint sound coming from the bottom of the car, possibly from the gearbox and clutch area. When I put the gearbox into neutral, that sound stopped coming. I can describe that sound as small bird (sparrow?) sound and it's likely to be related to clutch problem.
After I headed back home, the gearbox (or more exactly 'the clutch') started to be really really very hard to change into 1st gear. But I still managed to bring it home w.o. grinding the gearbox or any other problem.
After I parked it at home, I inspected the brake/clutch fluid and it was close to max. I also inspected the clutch pedal and it seemed ok, except the part of the hydraulics where the pedal would push into. There are traces of fluid on it but not so much as I would call it a leak (the photos)
I will have the car inspected by a mechanic but before that I'd like to know your opinions. Thanks.
UPDATE: I forgot to mention when the clutch kit was last replaced: It was replaced at 109.000 km's by a kit imported from Canada. The mechanic who made the replacement said: "The clutch kit should not break down on just 10.000 km's. It's more likely to be problem on the hydraulics, such as air trapped in..."

After inquiring the problem at a different site of a different brand (GM - Opel) I was told that the hydraulic cylinder, which is seen as leaking some hydraulic oil at the photo, is the cause of the problem I have. They told me to replace that part. It costs about €30 and it's ok. I will replace it ASAP.
