Clutch pedal assembly
So i know about how they break and snap on the '04 - '08 models. Im saving a bit of cash to buy the race roots clutch pedal reinforcer http://raceroots.com/index.php/produ...t-bracket.html
I think mine is possibly slowly breaking. The pedal moves alot, like when i have it fully depressed, it will wiggle, and when its fully released, i can push it with my foot over to the break pedal, and back all the way to the foot resting point. It looks like its the just metal connecting the foot pedal to the assembly, but its far too easy to move it if you ask me.
Now i tried to take a look at it, but because of my size and previous injuries, and surgeries, im not able to maneuver myself to look at it. I tried to have one of my friends slip under there, but he has no idea what he is looking at. So i handed him a camera and told him to take pics, but he has no idea of what to take pics of, and i tried to explain it to him and he didnt get it.
Am i just really lucky that it hasnt fully broke off yet, or can you all do this even with the reinforced bracket? i know im going to get the bracket either way, and welding is not an option simply cause i dont trust anyone except for lucky 7 racing.

lots of side to side movement is not a good thing and could mean the weld is already stressed and possibly about to break.
look in NYCGPS' thread and within the first few pages, you'll find pictures posted of exactly where these pedals break. show that to your friend, print them out if you have to and have him look under there for signs of damage.

If it's bad take it in and get a new one under warranty...then put on the bracket...might as well start with a good assembly
It would also be good for Mazda to see how many of these are really failing and being fixed by the owners

yeah i just came back from the dealership, and caused a fuss about how i have to come back on monday, and seven stock is next weekend!!! im already having tranny problems, and i just pray pray pray it will be fixed before seven stock, or at least will make it through seven stock

why do you need to go back monday?
were they SO busy they couldn't take your car today?

some people who thought they had transmission problems (ie; mis-shifts, grinding) later realized the issue was with the clutch pedal not functioning properly and not fully engaging the clutch.
if the welds are broken, starting to go that could be a factor.

why do you need to go back monday?
were they SO busy they couldn't take your car today?

1.) when im going about 70mph on the freeway, and im getting ready to take the offramp, when i downshift into 5th, it grinds real fast before getting into gear.
2.) reverse grinds and pops out about 20% of the time
3.) this one just happened last night. when i downshift from 3rd to 2nd, and im going above 35mph, it wont stop grinding till it gets to 30mph.
