Clutch problems after recall
Hi everyone, got one a good one for you. I had a clutch and pressure plate put in at 32,000 miles because we were doing a warranty syncro problem. Worked ok for about a year but it was never like stock (smoothness, travel, freeplay) and had it adjusted numerous times. Had the broken pedal recall done. Was fine until about 1000 miles ago and it started with the pedal to floor (had master replaced) had another pedal kit put in because it blew out the old one. Just talked to the service manager and he says the pedal is still stiff and will just about launch off the floor. They have adjusted till there is no adjusting left to do. Could this mean there is a bad spring in the pressure plate or it is going bad? Clutch stills engages but on the floor, thanks for your help..

Ok picked up the car and it doesn't launch off the floor. Got it in and it engages close to the dash. Still don't know what he's talking about but it shifts great and everything seems to be working fine except for some adjustment to the engagement points. Also just recieved the clutch pedal reinforcement kit from Race-Roots and will put that on this weekend. That kit is really strong and should stop the breaking of the pedal and it also says you can install it if it is broken. I thought about the installation being screwed up but the only way to tell is to pull it apart plus it did pretty good for about 10,000 miles. It now has 42,000 miles on it. 2005 Shinka. Love the car but this is annoying but I will get it fixed and will keep all updated on the fixes. So far it has had the 2-3 syncros replaced, 2 clutch pedals, new master cylinder. We did find out it had a new motor at 22,000 miles for the previous owner who lived in Florida. We bought it at 25,000 in Overland Park, KS. Love this little car and plan on keeping it, thank god for this forum
