compression problem?

Hy

I’m sorry, my English it’s not very good, and this is my first thread.

I’ve read all the compression threads in this forum, then I just went to my mazda dealer and made a compression test ( at 231 RPM )
I think the results on my first rotor don’t look to well, but the car it’s running great.
(0-60 in 7 seconds)
My question is … how much do you guys estimate that I can go before an apex seal blows? Or it’s gonna lose compression until it won’t start?

I tried to transform my results in 250 rpm :

First rotor
625 kPa @250RPM
585 kPa @250RPM
610 kPa @250RPM

Second rotor
697 kPa @250RPM
705 kPa @250RPM
705 kPa @250RPM

My car has 110k miles, 2004…I don’t know any history about my engine

I don't have the money for e rebuild now, and i'm very worried

According to the Mazda specs, rotor #1 is barely below the minimum and rotor #2 is barely above minimum. Good news is that the differences between rotor faces and rotors is within spec--barely so, however. Since there are no dramatic differences between the rotor faces, it appears that your engine is just getting tired at 110K miles. No obvious indication of a failed apex seal.

As long as the numbers don't deteriorate dramatically in the near term, and they remain fairly even, you should be able to run the car for quite awhile. How long? No way to estimate, but as long as you maintain the engine properly and add a few ounces of 2-stroke to the gas at each fill-up, I would guess it could last as much as another 50K miles. [Don't quote me on that.] The ultimate performance will likely suffer, but if that's not a problem for you, just run the car until it dies and then have the engine rebuilt or install a reman engine. And since you are out of warranty, I suspect that is what you will want to do.

BTW, your English is just fine!

that's good news for me... i was expecting an engine failure in less than 10k miles... 50k it's much better

I use Dexelia ultra 5W-30(the red one) , does it matter if the 2 stroke oil that i would add to the tank is synthetic or semi synthetic?

How much should i add to a tank? for my 110k miles engine?

I'm not afraid of power losst... i just hope that a low compression dosen't mean a more possible apex failure.

PS: I haven't changed my oil for 8k... i don't think it has anything to do with my compression test...right?

As I said, 50K is only a guess.
I'm not familiar with Dexelia Ultra. But any quality 5w-30 oil is OK.
For the 2-stroke oil, use whatever quality 2-stroke oil is readily available at a ratio of about 1 ounce per 4 gallons of fuel. Put the oil in the tank before filling with fuel so as to mix the oil with the fuel.

Probably not, unless the fuel contamination in the oil is excessive.

Try the z00m cleaner first.

then start premixing.

do you know how many FT you are above sea level? because that affects compression numbers too.
