Unhappy Coolant hose?

Hello, My rx8 was recently hit by 2 idiots and totaled out. im now looking for a new one and i found it. its just that the owner says its leaking coolant. i went and took a look and this is the conclusion

in the attached picture i circled the coolant tank and pointed to the hose that was loose when i checked it out.

my question is will this be a cheap and easy fix?
and does the solution usually just seem to be fixed with a new hose?

im scared it could just be the tip of an iceberg to another problem to the next connecting piece?

NYC is right...SEARCH. Anything could be the tip of an iceberg, you just have to use judgement. The info you provided isn't enough for anybody to tell you anything useful, so I suggest you look here:

Let me google that for you

The hose you pointed to is the coolant overflow hose. You could remove it and the only thing it would change is that the coolant overflowing would be shooting to the driver's side freely. If you followed the hose you would see that it only drops down a couple of inches before ending there. It isn't a hose that carries coolant normally. Only one that directs where the overflow spray is going.

Personally, I'd stay away from an RX-8 with a cooling system problem period. Even if it's an easy fix, the internal engine damage might have already been done if it has been ignored for too long.

Good point! I never considered that

Could easily be the nipple on the radiator under the coolant bottle.

Yep, and that could be a new radiator if the nipple breaks when taking the hose off.
