Coolant light?
I have now couple times searched the forum for this, but haven't found anything that would confirm my problem..
just to double check.
so heres what
2004 RX8 High Power 6MT
swapped 2007 HP engine.
after the engine swap i have been getting the coolant level too low light on the dash now and then..
the coolant levels are ok, no leaks or what so ever.
the coolant light comes on, now and then.. usually if driving a continious speed like 100km/h on 6th gear... and if the light comes on and i drop it to neutral and let it roll the light goes out? not always but usually.
have gotten the light on few time, when driving in the city low speeds.
firstly i tought theres air in the system and does this..
i've tried to bleed the air out, but don't know have i gotten all of it out... (front of the car lifted, cap open, engine running till warm)
if i read correctly, there have been some maflunctions on 2004 coolant "bottle" and the sensor in it?
if somebody have any idea how to fix this, please help...
and just to say, engine temp stays always in the normal position.. no overheating
just to double check.

On a side note, I have the exact same problem on mine too; believe it's just an annoyance more than a problem.

UPDATE: You can read the thread, but most of us have come to the conclusion that the magnetic float looses buoyancy over time. Cleaning the bottle may help for some period of time, but the bottom line is.........long term, you either buy a new bottle, or just unplug it and check your coolant level when you check your oil.

I suppose they could have fouled up the float/bottle if the coolant was really corroded, drained it improperly, and let all the crap sit in there?
I'm not really sure, just a thought. The others' with more experience might be able to lend a better theory or explanation.

tested this yesterday while i were driving around the city.
The light comes on only when in gear and have some speed on..
if the light goes on, and i drop the car out of gear and let it roll.. it instantly always shuts off the coolant light..
is this normal for the coolant bottle floater to act like? (if it's broken)
or could there be something other malfunctioning?
