oh and just so you know we have a search feature ... the coolant sensors on ALOT of our 8's is messed up and to change it you have to change the whole reservoir if you dont wanna do that or if you car is not under warranty then just plug out the sensor and check fluids yourself when you check the oil ...

This happened to mine also. The sensor has gone bad and needs to be replaced. It was covered under the engine warranty which i believe is 100,000 miles, so you should be able to get it fixed for free.

The 8yr 100k engine warranty does not cover the Coolant Sensor.

Do you mean during those few seconds when all of the warning lights come on?

If the sensor does go bad, it would be covered by the 4 year (3 year for '07 onward) bumper to bumper warranty. If it goes bad after the warranty is up, it's simple enough to pull the plug. That sensor has got to be one of the most useless things they put on cars these days.

My dealer said it wasn't covered. I also live in So cal, so i'm wondering which dealer was it that changed it for you - for free?
