Cracked Exhaust Mainifold?!
Before anyone says search, search, search.... I have searched high and low on this site and on google with no relevant results.
I just had my 8 looked at an exhaust shop and he told me that the exhaust manifold is cracked. So does anyone have any thoughts on the best course of action here? From what I see I have two options: A) Pull the manifold and have the crack ground and welded to seal it up, or B) replace with an after market header. I'd rather spend the least amount possible on this issue.
A little about the issue, I have lately, been getting noise problems under acceleration after the engine has gotten quite hot. This is way worse on hot days. I have put on a high flow cat and I know that the seal between the cat and manifold is fine as is the rear of the mid-pipe and the rest of the exhaust.
It's a 2005, manual with just shy of 41,000 on the odometer. I just replaced the coils and will be doing the plugs and wires once the wires arrive.
Thanks all,
Jon

Ok, ok
I could have been a little more clear on this, I want to do what is going to last best and would be considered the better course of action in this case. I'm not 100% against spending money if it will last longer. I personally am the "do it right the first time, if possible" kinda guy
Thanks
Thanks
