crazy cel??!!
What does it mean when your driving your car and the check engine light starts blinking for like 10-20 seconds and the goes away??? This has happened to me about 5 times now!!!

I had the same thing, about 6,000 rpm cel would flash (stayed on after the third time or so) took it to the dealership and they had to replace plugs, wires, and coils... runs fine now.
ps. auto zone could not read the codes but my mechanic and dealership could

change your plugs and coils, its due.
for your question, it is Misfire. When it happens more than once in each drive cycle for 2 drive cycle, after the second blink in the 2nd drive cycle, the CEL will stay lid.
Remember, they might replace plugs for free depends on how *good* the dealership is. Cuz plugs are considered as wear item and should be changed every 30K miles ( I change mine every 15K, coils maybe 20K, just so you know)
For coils, u might have to fight for it, cuz sometimes even when it tests out to be *within* spec, its still not good.
Next time, SEARCH THE SITE BEFORE YOU POST. Your question has been answered like zillion times.

What RPM are you driving at when you get the cels?
We assume high RPM, which then I agree w/nycgps except I would just do the plugs unless you have 50k on the wires, then change them too.

I'm getting a misfire code CEL around 6K RPM. It only gets thrown when my car is on the track all day.
I recently replaced plugs, plug wires and coils and I'm still throwing the CEL.
I'm going to go back to stock exhaust and see if that helps. My car shoots flames with my cat back (Greddy SP2) and I never used to throw CELs when stock.
Any suggestions for what else to try?
