update
The new/used OMP from MazMart showed up Tuesday 2/26 and Steve got it installed on Thursday 2/28. That seemed to do the trick. They test drove it Friday and I picked it up that night. BUT, by Saturday I got a CEL. The car is not in limp mode though so I'll drive down to Autozone for the ODBII scanner to read and clear the codes. Looks like it'll be going back to R&R on Monday.
I'm torn between having my old OMP rebuilt for higher volume by Racing Beat and returning to Mazmart for my $100 core deposit.

Hey guys,
I'm so new to this whole rotary thingy but I've done some research and still failed to find why my RX8 had engine light on every morning in coldstart.
I had one code coming up as Secondary Air Injection bank A, I've changed the secondary air injection pump it was running fine just for a day and came back on, so I checked and found out my EGR Vacuum Solenoid which is behind the intake manifold with the blue socket has been failed. Replaced that one and was a huge success (and with that success came the worst part ever)
Then came the P0160 Code saying vehicle control module options error, what the hell it is? I've been checking my wiring it's fine and recently noted that when the car is on operation running temperature when I erase the code it erases but on cold start it never erases pops right back in after trying to erase
So literally I have to start the car wait until the water temp goes to 90° and the drive it to work and clear the code it goes away never comes back but again after work when I start the car it's there again.
So yeah I've tried KRAM AND NVRAM resets
The 20 time brake pedal ecu reset
Still doesn't work
I've got another ECU getting posted to me I'll try it and give y'all an update
But if anyone knows anything about this or maybe similar please let me know
Thanks guys 😄

The P0610 error appears to have happened to multiple people, including me. There is nothing wrong with the PCM otherwise, and there seems to be indeed no other way to fix than replacing it. For most people, this happens when the weather gets cold. This was the same for me - the code only popped up when the car was sitting overnight and in the morning got started. After deleting the code on a warmed up engine, it never came back until it cooled down significantly. Also, this never happened when the weather was warm. Given that you are in Australia where it is winter now, it's probably the same in your case.
I really didn't want to replace the PCM and have to deal with reprogramming the immobilizer and keys, so I'm still running the same one for over two years now and everything is OK. To avoid that CEL on the dashboard, an easy way is masking the code using VersaTuner or MazdaEdit, unless you decide to get a new PCM.

Wow thanks heaps man I was starting to think my ECU is gone mad but anyways you have a point since we have a thing called Roadworthy test in Australia I need the CEL code cleared otherwise it RWC testers won't pass my car since it's unregistered
And also is that software free or do we have to buy?
