definite engine rebuild...
Well, I'm new here and just bought a 2004 Velocity Red 192 RX8. In 2006 I had another 192 2003, and again in 2008 with a 231 2005. I missed the pure pleasure and fun of the rx8 and drove me to get another, this time as a project. The car was bought for £500, and knowing in selling the alloys alone I would make a profit... So I got the car, sold with a 'blown engine'. So we drove 3 and a half hours south and towed the non runner all the way home, leaving it at some services due to the dark and flat batteries.... The guy it was from said he started it and it drove all way around the block which is around a mile. And he said it really banged... Anyway we got home and the car was in one hell of a state, first off a wash, so it was jet washed and sponged clean, the interior was horrible. The guy it was off bought it 2 weeks prior to me from a garage, who got it from a man called Rafael.... Who was a smoker.... Of marijuana... And the car was covered in it... Red seats were black and after 2 days of cleaning and sore hands, its clean.. Almost... Just the roof liner to clean. When I got to the engine that I left till last due to knowing it was blown, I wondered, was it really blown? Because the guy said it run... Sort of... I pulled out the dipstick and wouldn't you know... No oil... Nothing... Literally... Opened the sump and not a drop... Now I had a 50 year old mini cooper that was left in a barn for 15 years, and that had oil in... WHO THE HELL WOULD DO THAT?!? Especially on this temperamental thing... So I want to know, with having it blown... And been run for a mile with no oil, what could the damage be? Is it repairable? I would also like to add, it does turn over and the guy said he push started the car to get it going... Thanks all.
