doesn`t ignite-dealer ship says: replace engine
Dear peopleĦ
My 8 doesn´t ignite from one day to another. In the morning it made the ignition intent, i could hear the starter motor and some ignition noise but it didn't start at all.
A few hours later there wasn't any ignition noise, but the starter did work.
I took the car to the dealership, they thought it could be the plugs...after a few days the told me that they replaced the plugs and nothing happened, the engine doesn't start neither.
They say that there is no compression in one rotor and I have to replace the hole engine
can anybody give some light? is that usual? does it make any sense? have someone had an issue like this? it has 60K miles, and I treat it well...

If they did a compression test and you have no compression in one rotor, then yep, you need a new engine. Ask for specific compression numbers from the test. Where are you located (asking because engine warranties are different in different countries).
When were the ignition coils last replaced?

its rare that one rotor has zero compression and you dont hear anything weird from the engine.
cuz usually if u lose compression completely, something hard broke and chew everything.
if water seal failed, then dealership should be able to tell right away as soon as they do any compression test(they could be retarded and not see the coolant on the plugs though)
why would you replace just a pair of coils? you do know that when one fails, most other ones are not that far behind right?
i would say one of ur chamber is heavily flooded with fuel, because the other coils failed(it might not throw any cel), heavily flooded chamber will not have any compression/car will not be able start, because your plugs will be wet all the time.
