FL Driver door wont open

I just got to work and as i was trying to get out; i noticed my door wouldnt open. i still had the key in the ignition when pulled the door handle, the lock seems to be jammed. is this some sort of security feature? or am i stuck like chuck? i had to escape through the passenger. i read that this had happened to other ppl, and no one says if its mechanical or what?

i dont have my tools to try anything mechanically due to me being at work, i would appreciate any response please.

Can you open the door from the outside?
Can you lock / unlock the door with the Key, switch on the armrest, latch on the door, key fob?
Is there something stuck in the door like the seatbelt?

The pull rod from the handle to the lock mechanism may have fallen off....

Does it open from the outside? If it does...remove the inner door panel and that will likely be your problem

If that works....roll down your window to get out when you go home

Negative!!, i tried with the key outside and with the remote and still got the same result. i dont care about pulling the door panel but i just want to make sure that it's not some type of security feater.

Did you try manually unlocking the door via the ****? If that makes the handles work then the issue might be the fuse by the drivers side footwell, fuse #12.

i didnt check the fuses, but the lock moves when you unlock it. it just wont open; even though it moves normally i also tried manually and the same thing. it feels and sounds like it unlocks but the door wont open

Look what Dannobre wrote!

"The pull rod from the handle to the lock mechanism may have fallen off."

This rod usually slides into a little plastic holder which is then clipped onto another point(rod). Either the plastic busted, it popped out of it's holder, or the piece that clips onto the other point/rod popped off.

so after closer inspection me and my father noticed scratches by the door and window frame

so most logical conclusion..... someone tried breaking into my car

2 weeks ago someone broke the window in my mx6 and stole my radio.

now i have no way of opening the door, it seems that they broke the lever to open the door

If you have a Slim Jim tool...the door can be opened..might want to get a tow truck driver or a locksmith that does it for a living to open the door

Likely they knocked the rod off the actuator lever....

You need to get someone with the proper tool that can open the door......like I said..try a tow truck driver or a locksmith....you need a wedge and a proper tool to trip the latch..especially since some dim wit tried to do it and likely broke the catch off...

How much is it worth to you not to climb through the passenger side for the next six months or longer?

Either use google or the phonebook and call a few to see what they say. Yeah......about $35.00 sounds good. Seems like last time I heard of someone needing one that was about the price.

So they quoted 120, I took her to the shop after 3 hours of them trying open the door; no success they told to take it to Mazda or call my insurance. I already made a police report

another option I was thinking was just to rip the panel and open it

Lots of parting out threads..

.Vyndictive comes to mind right now...there were a few others in the last day or so popping up as well

Patrick ( G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY) likely would have the parts as well as Mazmart....
