DSC Problem ?

After fitting new tyres to the rear ,when I turn either sharp left or right, the inside rear tyre feels like it is locking on and of course sends the car off direction. Seems fine when I drive with the DSC off.
Can anybody point me in the right direction??

What kind of tires did you put on?

If it was fine before you swapped the tires out... I don't think that the tire change itself would have made the DSC start acting up, so I would guess it has something to do with the new ones you put on.

Hankook 225/45 x 18 on the rear while running Bridgestone Potenza same size on the front.

Even different tread patterns or radius's can throw the DCS off. Not saying it's your issue, but it could be.

While this thread is NOT regarding your exact issue, give it a read through for possibilities that may relate!

My R3 does this on cold days every morning. To get out my parking space I have to make a sharp left turn, and you could feel the traction losing grip as I make it.

With DSC off I get no jump.

It concerned me at first, so I had a friend look at the car while I was making that first turn every morning, and sure enough, the wheel was losing grip and spinning. Within a few minutes (probably 1 minute) of driving, it's fine.

Stock R3 rims, 2009 R3 w/stock tires @ 9600 babied miles.

Two manufacturers building a tire to the same size, the tires won't be the same size. If I had to guess I would say its because you have two different brands on your vehicle. Plus if you look at the tread wear. Are they both new? If one set is new, and one set is old that could also be your culprit.

Remember DSC works off wheel speed. If your front and rear wheels are spinning faster, which they are, it will notice it.

Mine did this from the day it was new with Kumho 225/45r18's.

I'd turn right into traffic, floorboard it, and the right rear brakes would pulsate.

Also, the rears wore twice as fast as the fronts( might be normal)

I aligned, put new Hankook 225/40r18's, and still did it.

So, I aligned once more, this time making sure the rear camber was as low as I could get it: -1.65 deg instead of over -2.1

Now it has traction and neutral cornering feel.

Best handling feel I've ever had!
