Exclamation Emissions Test Help

Hello all,
I'm new to this site but i came looking for help.
I have a 2004 mazda rx8, and i have to get the emmisions check for texas, (note tht last year my car passed the smog test in california), well it failed the test and test results said

Catalyst "Not Ready"
Evap "Not Ready"
2nd Sys "Not Ready"
O2 Sens "Not Ready"

Does anyone have any idea as to how i could fix this, or the drive cycles to retest it, because a few months ago while i was overseas my car died and i had to replace the battery when i came back so im not sure if that has to do with it

Takes a few drive cycles for the memory banks to fill up. Anytime you DC the battery this is experienced.

Curious, did you try manually resetting the memory just to see if it helps?

I have no idea how to do that, lol. Unless you mean disconnecting the battery..
Although idk if this could cause the issue, but i know one of my door sensors is broken so the door ajar light always stays on and so i pull the "room" fuse, idk if tht keeps resetting it so its never able to go through the drive cycles

lol well the room fuse shouldn't affect anything ... probably sucks that it keeps resetting your trip meter and radio though lol. As far as a manual reset, turn the key to "ON" and stomp the brakes 20 times within 8 seconds. It will sweep the gauge cluster. I am just wondering if for some reason your ecu is stuck in a weird state. Has you gas mileage been off lately, strange idling, etc?

Yeah it does suck lol, it quite frankly really bothers me ha. To me everything seems to be running fine, i guess it makes a weird sound when it idles but i was told thts cuz it sounds like my clutch bearing is about to go out

*edit im talking to a mazda tech on justanswers.com and he said everytime i pull out the room fuse im resetting the pcm memory/ status monitors..fml

oh wow, my mistake i wasn't aware that it would do that. Glad you found the answer

edit: btw you should check to see if anyone is parting out a rx8 in the for sale section to see if you can get a door sensor for cheap.

I wouldnt even know how to replace it, like i took off the door panel but i cant seem to disconnect the wires that are attached to the sensor. Plus the sensor seems liek it would work fine so it could be a short maybe? i dont know.

FYI, the procedure to make sure you set the readiness monitors is in this thread.

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-engine-tuning-forum-63/important-information-about-obd-ii-readiness-monitors-188078/

Normal driving will do it after a while, but if you don't want to wait, try that.
