UK Engine cut out after getting clutch replaced

Hi,

Having problems with a 2004 192bhp rx8.

Have just recently had the clutch and flywheel of my rx8 replaced. almost immeadiately after that i am experiening problems with the car when coming to a stop. The car starts fine, I drive normally 3-4k revs. The problem comes when I slow down ie. at traffic lights. As I slow and the revs go down to under 1k the car then no longer revs, there is absolutely no drive to the engine. The car itself doesnt get that sudden throw forward like you do when stalling. I then have to restart the car which is fine and then get a the same problem every time I have to stop. I have found that when the revs cut out while rolling, It sometimes seems to catch and I can drive on.

I brought the car to the halfords dealer who has run tests on the engine and has found no problem, saying the problem is likely to be electrical and only the mazda dealers can deal with that.

Any ideas of what might be wrong and how much it would cost to fix would be great.

Thanks.

Hi,

Sorry to resurrect this after so many years, but on Googling this problem I came across this query, and wondered if it had ever been resolved? Having exactly the same issue with my Suzuki Swift...it reminds me a bit of the time the throttle body needed cleaning, but much more severe.

If you ever found the solution, any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
