Engine die's at low RPM

Hi There

I've a 2003 RX8 model, after 30 min working at low RPM my engine die's, some mechanics say it might be the fuel filter, but some alarm techniciains try to install a remote start alarm but they fail i said them to put it back again as it was might this be the reason why my engine dies at low RPM after 30 min?

Regards

This belongs in the troubleshooting section.

Get a compression test done on the engine.

10 dollars it fails the test

Moved to Troubleshooting.

And agreed with WCS. A few other things that it could be, including fuel pump overheating.

The kicker will be whether or not you can restart it, how long it takes to restart if not, and if it only dies at idle, or will die at any rpm. If it stays alive at higher RPM, then it's compression. If it dies anywhere, and it dies suddenly, it's more likely the fuel pump. If you can't restart it at all for 20+ minutes, it's probably the fuel pump. If it almost gets started and coughs and splutters to live before that time, it's probably compression.

All heat related, either the lower compression from being a hot engine (we make better compression when cold) or the fuel pump overheating and turning off.

wait i am confused, you had a tech try installing a remote starter? did they disconnect the battery? if it started doing this after it could just be a fuel trim learning issue. Did it do it before you had any work done to the car?

The motor dies when idle's, it normally restarts after +20 min without giving the same problem.

Nevertheless; if the idle keeps dropping once the engine reaches normal operating temperature while it is relearning the fuel trims, you should consider looking into what wcs and RIWWP have suggested. Like them, I feel that's loss of compression.
