engine dies out after high rpms

alright guys i ran into another problem...

i redline 1st then go into high rpms in 2nd then throw it into neutral, then the car shuts down...

any suggestion as to what the problem might be? i just changed out the coils the other day, my plugs have about 2.5k on them...im lost as to what it could be.

Check your battery terminals and see if they are tight. I loose connection can cause weird things to happen

But seriously, I would question the coils. put the old ones back on and see if the same problem is there.

Well, we know it is prob not the coils unless your old ones were bad and you bought bad coils (which is highly unlikely). Is it throwing a CEL?

Lets start simple, i would pull the plugs and take a look at them. Bad coils could have fouled them. It could be either electrical system or in the fuel system.

It can't hurt to check your battery, but I doubt it. whens the last time you replaced it and do you have problems initially starting the car? It sounds more like a firing issue do to plugs, lack of fuel, incorrect air to fuel ratio, etc...

Was it loose because of the housing or it had jiggled itself loose? Seems like you have narrowed the problem down to probably the MAF sensor or the housing.
