Engine Misfire Due to Water

Before I get into this issue just wanna let you know what has been done to the car. Only mods right now are an injen short ram intake and a corksport catback exhaust.

Basically whats going on is (btw I live in Canada) whenever I take my car to a touchless car wash or i go through a large puddle or slush, my engine will start running like ****. Check engine light starts to blink (codes say random engine misfire) and sometimes its so bad I cant start the car. If I allow the car to sit for about 20 min or so the car will start but still will run like ****. Ill get back to it the next morning and starts up fine no issue at all.

I wanted to mention my mods because I didnt want people to think i have a CAI and im sucking up water or anything. My theory is because the engine sits low im thinking the coils are getting wet (sometimes the code will say cylinder 2 misfired). Need to get other peoples feedback and see if anyone else has this problem? Is this an RX8 thing or is there something wrong with my car? Is there anything I can purchase to eliminate this problem.

My car is a 05 with 91000 km on it right now. Let me know guys what you think. Thanks

You are getting water into your intake or your plug wires are bad. Your coils can not get wet from a car wash.

not heard of it other than common issue w/cars is water related. It can't hurt to troubleshoot to change the plugs and wires. Wet and electricity have issues. If the components are failing, leaking electricity, wet will bring it out. P & w are lower, more likely to get wet. Coils are higher up so I'd go with p & w 1st.
