engine oil burn

engine oil burn
Hi everyone. I have searched and found many posts on engine oil burn. The problem is I don't know how many quarts I am burning - just that my engine is burning alot of oil in just a week of driving it. So, for example, I do my own oil change, and the oil level is to the full level on the dipstick. After a week of driving, the oil is to the low level (the line lowest on the dip stick). After all that burn, it doesn't seem to burn much more no matter how much you drive, (3000 miles, 2000 miles, 4000 miles). It just basically stays the same (at the low level).
Any thoughts, Sorry if this is just a repost. I did search and found alot of info, but nothing concrete in my case. Just looking for anyone with shared experiences

Do you have a CAT? Do you have the SOHN oil adapter?
First figure out, is the oil actually burning? Could it just be leaking? Leaking into coolant? Any oil found on the ground after driving? Check the oil coolers and lines for leaks. Check the little drain hole on the bottom of the transmission bellhousing, perhaps the rear main seal went. Pulling the starter out also can help you look in the bellhousing.
If it is burning you can try to see how is it getting into the combustion chamber. The renesis has 3 oil control rings, but it is possible on an old engine to see oil getting past the rings. My current rebuilt engine sees oil consumption if I maintain higher rpms. Otherwise oil could be finding its way into the intake via the vac lines. Your Oil Metering Pump should not be injecting that much oil, even with a 120% injection tune I only go through a quart every 6+ gas fill ups.
The quantity and symptoms you are claiming sounds more like a leak.
