evap gross leak?
Sorry if this is the wrong section first post... That said i'm looking into buying this rx-8 online but the guy selling it says it has a check engine light with an evap gross leak. Anybody know how much this thing will cost me to fix? if it absolutely needs to be fixed.
And any other info would be greatly appreciated...
here's the ad.

First thing would be to check/replace the fuel cap. They have to be snug and leak-free or you will get that code. Secondly, have you called any local auto mechanic shops in your area about having this problem fix and have them check it out and ask them how much to get it fix? Do those first and let us know the outcome.

+1, every time I see a gross leak it's from someone forgetting to tighten the fuel cap, or tightening the fuel cap improperly over time and wearing it out.
You'll have to wait after you clear the check engine light for the evap system to perform it's readiness test. Typically a few key cycles and while the car sits it performs it's readiness test.

Anyone know what kind of problems can arise if this leak is left unattended for a little while?
