Exhaust smell

Hi first new thread, and I had a question about my exhaust.

I have a Borla cat-back exhaust setup on the '04 8 I bought a few weeks ago. I have been smelling exhaust from it when I get out, and if I drive with the windows down I actually have the smell of exhaust when I get home. I took it to a repair shop near my house, who I have went to before. They told me after looking at it that there wasn't a leak, and when people upgrade their exhaust pipes to a larger size the exhaust smell is normal. Now this doesn't sound correct to me. Because who would do the upgrade and want to smell of exhaust? So, my actual question is this correct?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Terry

well that sucks

Is there a way to get the small rumble it has due to the Borla exhaust while stopping the smell?

Well at least I know its due to being a rotary. In my old Cj is was an exhaust leak so I figured the same.

Thanks for clearing it up for me

The smell of gas is very addictive, and it's bad for your health. Exhaust is different than gas, it's bad for your health and for the environment. Anyway, both are toxic and dangerous when inhaled.
