Exploding Clutch!!!
WTF!!!!
So my engine light comes on but I dont feel any difference or hear any new noises??? I figure I'll wait a day or two if its not gone Ill bring it in... so 2 days go by and well its still there! So I decide theat the next moring I'll bring it in...then allof a sudden Ive revving but not going anywhere and im still in gear?!?!? I then proceed to change gears but guess what i cant FIND ANY!!! So i pull over cursing and call a Flat bed to bring it to the dealer.
NOW the dealer claims that my clutch is worn out and its not covered by Warranty! Did I mention I have less than 50km on my 8! and never abuse it... Ive driven stick my whole life and have driven cars over 230km with out changing a clutch(honda). SO today i call them back again to see what can be done and now I spoke with the mechanic who tells me he had never seen this before...THE CLUCH EXPLODED!!! He said something
happened with the springs over heating ???
They said they called MAZDA CAN and they refused to cover it by warranty!
I know a clutch is a wear and tear item but my clutch they found out wast worn it exploded due to these failing springs now how is this my fault its a manufacturers problem and should be covered by them!!!
So i called MAZDA CAN today and they are going to have an investigation...
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS?????
My other option is that i can buy my own clutch and they will charge me only for labour 4h. What clutch would you guys suggest?

I took my car in for trans service at a little over 12,000 mi. They found that the clutch was worn out. I've been driving manual cars, trucks & tractors since I was 6 yrs old (45 yrs). I don't drag race the car. Mazda will and did in my case, replace a clutch if it is less than 1yr/12,000 mi. (U.S.). The springs in the pressure plate failed on mine too. I since have had to have it replaced again when they found it was too worn during an engine replacement. Some say that the clutch (ACT stage 1?) is a good system. I don't think so.
When my OEM parts go bad, I replace them with upgraded/performance parts

My clutch blew up at 16k mi. And Mazda eventually covered the replacement + labor. I've since put 20k mi on the new clutch with no issues (knock on wood).
