extreme cabin heat

Hi all first post, from the uk.
Recently purchased a 53reg velocity red 8 with 48k on the clock and with all the optional extras. It has full service history. But when I drive it hard the interior gets very hot and the drivers seat floor mount gets scolding hot to the point that water sizzles on it.My local Mazda told me this was due to there being an after market cat fitted. So I fitted a poem cat and changed the leads, plugs and coils at the same time. But still the same.*I'm not sure where to go from here now, Mazda have told me to try changing the rest of the exhaust but I'm unsure that this will help. Any advice would greatly appreciated.

Are the OEM heat shields still in place? They are the shiney aluminim pieces above the front parts of the exhaust system you can see in most every undercarriage photo shot.

Hi, yes all the heat shied s are intact. Cat is clear and unblocked. Starts fine hot or cold and ticks over nice and even. Its very annoying as it burns my leg while driving and I have to have the window open or the a.c. on all the time.

Well maybe your aftermarket cat retains more heat than the factory...

I'm assuming this isn't the HVAC issue either.
