Factory Alarm Issue
Issue:
The Factoty Alarm is not working, when I hit the 'lock' button on the remote, the lights on the car do not flash and the alarm does not 'arm'. The same goes for using the lock button on the driver side door, it does not arm nor flashes the lights. The alarm will go off sproaticaly, at times right after I press the lock button (twice). It went of last nite at freaking 2am!!!
How do I know it's not arming? I tested it by opening the doors from inside the car, even though just by manually unlocking the door, it should trigger the alarm, I've also tried triggering the 'shock sensor' without any luck.
Yes I have checked all the following:
Remote Batteries
Car Battery
Door switches/sensors (including trunk)
Removed the factory 'alarm' module located under the dash on the passager side, plugged it back in and still nothing. Also removed the OEM shock sensor thinking it may have gone wrong and the problem still there (left it unplugged, for now)
My next step is replacing the alarm module with a used one, however I think I may have to reprogram the remotes after this, on my way to the used auto parts place now.
Anything else I'm missing here? Oh yes... it's an 05 with a manual trany and a factory installed shock sensor (unplugged).
Thanks!
