heh, so i use the factory jack to put my car on jack stands, it has been very useful, but it has now seized and wont work.

anyone have the jack seize on them before ? Ill probably just buy a low profile jack now

What did you do to seize the jack? How high were you extending the jack? Did t seize going up or coming back down?

coming back down it seized, i managed to get it down but i probably wont try using it again. the screw thread looks damaged now probably what caused it to seized.

I've seen that before. Something causes the worm drive rod to tear up the guide.
Throw it away and get a new one.

the factory lol-jack isnt really made for repeated uses. It's made as cheaply as possible and therefore will wear out pretty damn quick for most people.

As easy said, chuck it and get another to keep in the car for emergencies, and use a real jack when you're doing anything at home.

Did you ever lubricate it?

I used to swap snow tires on and off my wife's Hornet using its scissors jack. Tough cranking every time, year after year. The very last time I used that jack it dawned on me that it could use some lube. A little squirt of chassis grease on the worm, and it was amazingly easy to crank up and down.

Still have that jack, even though the Hornet was junked 20 years ago. Every time I look at it I kick myself for not lubing it on day 1.

They are cheap stamped steel....they only work a few times before they fail....They work great for when you have to put on your non-existent spare on the car when you get a flat

to op, yeah just chuck it and get a new one. Its meant for emergency only.

Hell I dont even know what my "lol-jack" look like ... never use it before ... lol

thanks guys, just seeing if it happened to some one else, yea lube isnt gonig to help that it ate the screw.
