Failed clutch, is it the hydrolics or the clutch?
Hello, I have been experiencing pilot bearing and release bearing noise from day 1 that I got my RX8 Manual 2005 GT. It suddenly got harder to shift and got gear grinding at high rpm. Then my clutch was harder to press. I got my clutch assembly changed due to cracking bracket. Then my gears grinded more and more like my clutch was disengaging halfway. I checked my master but not the salve, no leaks and my brake fluid isn't going low. I replaced my clutch line into a stainless one+bleeding the line and when I used to press the clutch, I could see the line moving abit, now nothing. My clutch pedal is soft. When I come to a stop, my car dies, to restard my car I have to put it into 1st gear then crank and my car will advance while cranking. If I put it into neutral, it starts like a normal car but I can't shift into any gears. No slipping, no more chirping noise from the bearings. So is it my clutch disc assembly that is going to have to be replaced or my master and/or slave cylinder? Is there away to check is the master or slave is dead? Except for checking the leaks...

on the back side of the slave cylinder there should be a little fork or something that moves when you push the clutch in and out. If that's moving, you hydros are fine and it's probably you're pressure plate or release bearing.
