A few Questions

Hi,
I'm pretty new to the whole rotary engine, but I have a few questions I hope some people can answer. To add, I have done searches already, but need some clarification on what I found.
To start with, my car wouldn't turn on today. It turned over, but wouldn't fire. I decided that it is most likely flooded. To fix this, I was trying the "pedal to the floor" trick, but to no avail.

Now, for the questions.

1. In my searches on this site, I read something about the new flash. I have a 04 (Base model). Shall I just go to a local Mazda dealership to get the new flash?

2. I am planning on getting new plugs, wires, etc. I am considering getting the BHR Ignition Kit. If I do this, what plugs would you suggest getting? Also, will I need coil wires or anything else? I read what is in the BHR Ignition Kit, but I just want some personal verification to find out if I will need anything else (Any wires, coils, brackets etc.) other than plugs.

I did research on the kit, but just want to know what exactly I am getting. There are a few other products on the page, such as coils (Which is why I asked if I will need them).
And suggestions for good spark plugs? I realize the BHR Ignition Kit is better than OEM, so I would imagine I should get better spark plugs as well.

I hope someone can help me with this. I have done research, and maybe not as great as I could have, but never-the-less I hope someone can help.

Thanks!

is your car auto or man?
1. call them and ask them to check if you have the flash or not. If you don't you'll more than likely have to pay. don't know the price...
2. BHR ignition comes with both coils and wires. At the bottom of the page, click that you'd like plugs as well. Or, order them from mazmart. Only use OEM plugs

Also, click the 'google search' link in my sig to find a more effective way of searching

edit: noticed your car is man. Try pull/ push starting to deflood it

I did a google search, thanks for that though :P

I did call and asked for flash before (Forgot to mention). They told me they could not tell me (wtf).

And yes, basically I was just wondering if I should still be using OEM plugs.

If you clear your NVRAM, by turning the ignition to on and rapidly tapping the brake pedal 20 times, you can tell if you have the new flash because the gauges will sweep.

On the original flash, they do not sweep. Also, you can email Mazda your VIN, and they can tell you if you have any open recalls. They may take a couple of days though.

Haha, yeah, never had a problem with that, but some of the car cheat codes are pretty crazy these days. I spent like 20 minutes trying to do one on my mothers Xterra. I think the last step was touching my tongue to my nose.
