It finally happened

I might be stepping out of my element a little bit here. I understand the interest in Phil's project and the wanting to know what is going on.
The question I want to put out there is can anyone name another vendor that gives the kind of information and insight into projects like this besides BHR? When was the last time you saw someone document a major project that wasn't done by someone on the BHR team?
I'm even putting together a little goodie of the ignition upgrade build process for everyone because we (BHR) want you all to see the kind of work and time that goes into your products. Not cause we enjoy talking about ourselves but because we want YOU, the customer, to know the backstory of the stuff you buy.
So, with that in mind please remember that we're providing you a service which you cannot find anywhere else regarding the RX8. Please consider this aspect before making demands on updates. Regardless we will continue to document the process as best as we can with what time we have.
We can't all be cool like Charles...the rest of us have day jobs too!

There are several projects that Ray is into with my 8. Sometimes the shear volume of the mods makes me wonder when I will see my 8 again. I don't want to get into any of the mods in particular cuz the questions that may be asked may/will slow the process. I am trying to keep up with the mods on my Garage section of the Forum. Some of them listed are in the works and some are already done. When I get it back I will expect many questions about the performance. Questions about cost must be directed to Ray.
Ray got off to a very slow start (as he has already explained) and has to earn a living while working on my car. Yes I am paying for it but he does have other obligations. It is taking a lot longer than I contemplated but I keep thinking about how it will perform and look when he is done.

So here is a couple of pics from today,,
Ray doing some rewiring of the new gauges,,
Just a pic of the torn up engine bay,,,
And I have an issue with Pettit's Supercharger.
If you look at the bolts that hold the Throttle Body on,, You'll see that the bolt holes are not true to the base of the throttle body. At least one of them isn't.
Look at the lower left bolt and how it's not lined up compared to the other 3. Pettit missed on the drill and tap of this hole.
Another thing is why did they turn the mount for the throttle body. They turned it 90 degrees. Why? The TB is rotated 1/4 turn to the left.

HD has the blue, also. I use it for what it was designed to do - trap water from my compressor!
Both places sell the same Chinese-made Campbell-Hausfield stuff, so color just depends on their purchasing department.
And you can get 2 of the proper can for $120 and not have a device with a glass component under your hood.

Belittle my "catch can" if you will. It is small compact and easy to mount (the cost helped also but not the deciding factor). Yup, Lowe's special under $20.00 and works like a charm. I never saw one at Home Depot.
Yea that dammed aluminum duct tape deforms to easily over the foam. Guess I need to come up with a better idea. Need something reflective.
Don't know what Zaino is but if your referring to the dirty engine bay and such.........yea I will be kept busy for a long time cleaning it up.
I'm hoping the progress keeps up and I get my car back before the new year.
