Finally Spring, New Battery, No Power Steering..

Hey guys,

First time poster, but I have visited this site quite a few times. I'm aware of how to search via google, but i'd prefer an answer to my question from some of you guys.

This morning was finally a decent day to bring my car out of storage. I had started it a few times over the winter and towards the end I noticed my battery was going bad. So I put in a new one this morning, my car started up just fine, but when I backed it out, no power steering...

Is this usually a big problem to fix?

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

***Edit***

I should mention that I started it up about two weeks ago with the old battery, backed it out and took it out on my lawn to wash it and the power steering worked fine. This only occured after I put the new battery in. No previous problems.

Could it be something loose? Any help or tips is appreciated guys.

check the white wire connected to the + side of the battery.

but its probably the ps connector, which you will need to remove the air box to get at.
i just wiggled mine and haven't had problems with it since. :D

^^ this is the best place to start and most likely the problem. I would do more than wiggle the ps connector though. Pull it apart and clean the connections well before putting it back together. Wrap it in electrical tape too to seal it off from the elements since your coolant overflow dumps right above it. A lot of people put a longer coolant run-off hose on the overflow bottle to route it away from the connector as well.

glad you're squared away.

A snow plow on an 8 you say? It would probably look like it has the Veilslide kit
