Smile flashing cel possible solution?

i was having flashing cel's and solid cel's for about 2 weeks ,, havent had much time to check it ,

anyways i beat the **** out of the car redline every gear all the time , oil change every 3000kms add a quart or so every 2nd fill up , i got about 75000 kms original motor (04 oem), flooded only twice by past owner did maintenance coils and everything not too long ago car is immaculately maintained

only mod to date is aem cai , mazda has notified me that the problem was a bad starter and was causing carbon block in the rear rotor , i should be getting the car back monday , they said everything is fine ,, i hope

so if people are having loss of power and random misfires

according to mazda it might be a bad starter and for the record , never got the upgraded starter , but as stated by searches on the forum the new starter may or may not work for some people ,

just thought id throw this update out there for others

Did you get the code pulled?
Chances are it was a misfire and you'll focus on the ignition (spark plugs, wires, and/or coils).
I usually change the plugs first.

Haven't heard that one before. Starter causing carbon build up. OK.

As jon316g said, it's more likely an ignition issue.
