NE Flooded or something else?

I bought a 2004 RX-8 back before our first snow here in Nebraska, and during the first snow, I moved it from the street into the driveway and not knowing they had common flooding issues just turned it off right away. On the nicer days we have had I tried to deflood it by cranking with pedal to the floor and the fuel pump 20A fuse pulled, did it repeatedly until the battery died one day, even with a backup vehicle, couldnt get it to go anymore. So I took the battery to my dads shop and charged it and finally today got to pull the old plugs, cranked it 3 more times, in addition to what we had done the first time, about 10 seconds each time this time around. I replaced the plugs and wires with NGK plugs and wires, threading the plugs in and pulling them out to make sure it was dried out, and it was 95% dry so I continued to put everything back together, proceed to start and it still just cranks and cranks and cranks. I only tried once to start it, thinking I may have drained the battery quite a bit in those 30 seconds I cranked it to deflood, so I am going to wait until I have someone here to jump it, shoot some starter fluid into it and see if that works. If it does, I will post saying so, otherwise, I need advice, could it be something else, should I pull the plugs and try to deflood again another day when its nice? To those that read and reply, thank you for any input and your time, I really appreciate any help.

Now bear with me as I actually read your post rather than dribble over the original wall of text.

If it's a manual, pull start it.

If it's an auto, get yourself a beefy charger to hook up to your battery and follow the below procedure:
  1. Pedal to the floor, crank for 15 seconds.
  2. Wait 30 seconds
  3. Pedal to the floor, crank for 15 seconds.
  4. Wait 30 seconds
  5. Foot off the pedal, crank for 15 seconds.
  6. If she sputters (tries to run) tap the pedal a bit while cranking
  7. If she doesn't start wait 30 seconds
  8. Go back to step #1

Thank you, its an automatic, I will certainly give this a go when someone shows up so I can go borrow a charger.

And sorry about that huge mess of words, it was just so nice the couple weeks I got to drive it, and so frustrating that I can't get it started now.

If it ran before you moved it it will run after. Just need to work the auto fuel cut long enough to get her dried out.

Thanks for the tips, I know this is old but I just got a fully charged battery jumper box to use yesterday, had it start then shutoff immediately, so I had to charge it again over night.

Did the same thing today the first time, the second time I noticed if I hold the key cranking when trying to start it stayed on longer.

And finally the third try today, I got it started, drove it for a good 20-30 minutes, and hopefully now it starts right up next time, we will see.

The only thing I did different was pulled the fuel pump fuse when deflooding, cause with mine being a 2004 I wasn't certain if the pedal to floor trick would work or not.

Thanks again, really appreciate it.
