Fuel float wiring..
Hi i fitted a new sender yesterday and during the install managed to get the earth to the fuel level float stuck in the sender and pulled it out. The connection inside the top of the sender unit one (red/black).
My question is... If i earthed the connection somewhere else would the float be detected? I dont really mind if only the opposite side float will work but im taking a guess that because the circuit is broken it's unable to function properly and by earthing it or even looping it it will detect the level on the other side?
I don't really want to have to take the sender out again as the locking ring is on its last legs so any wiring i can do from on top of the sender would be a bonus. Anyone know which wires on top are connected to the plug underneath? Thanks

The circuit needs to be intact inside the tank. It is basically a variable resistor....so not your basic +ve/ -ve circuit that you could ground somewhere else and still have it work
So sorry...you have to take it apart again and fix it
