Yeah, exhaust was off checking to see if the cracked cat was causing issues. And yeah. My methods are quite interesting. I guess thats why I put them to use all day every day at a Nissan Dealer. Granted, it may not be Mazda, and my specialty may be in old school Chevrolets, my "methods" have yet to fail. I don't know about you, but seeing as how every part I have replaced was failing to some extent (fuel pump was bad and leaking, coils plugs and wires were original, starter was toast, etc) and would lead to a very short life IF i had to replace/rebuild the engine, I'm glad I found those problens rather than just dumping thousands into the car. But alas, I am not here to prove it to you or anyobe else for that matter. Only thing that matters at the moment is that Charles has stated he is having a similar issue to mine. And I hope he doesnt mind me saying this, but he has done the same things I have. Put new ignition, new parts, etc. He has even rebuilt the engine and he is still chasing the problem. So I will continue to fix my car the way I feel necessary, and correspond with Charles and anyone else that is interested in whether or not the injector drivers and/or PCM's are starting to fail on our cars.

That's cool. Sounds like you have a plan. It will be interesting to see it come to a conclusion.

Hmm, thats kinda like what it did with the cheap $10 ebay replacement fuel pump before I installed the 265lph pump thats in it now. It started up, sounded like it was a subaru, and when giving it throttle it would not respond unless I VERY VERY slowly increased the throttle. Then it went back to sounding normal for about 20 minutes (I do not drive it at the moment as I do not trust it). Then, after revving it, it came back down to idle and again sounded like a subaru. Now, I wasnt looking st the AFR or fuel trims at that time, so unsure whether or not that would have clued me in. I, like Charles had the injectors sent off thinking that was part of the problem. Especially seeing as how if I revved it about 3500-4000 it would instantly smooth out. So maybe my primary drivers are goind and the secondaries are fine?
