Fuel Pump O-Ring Gone bad. Fuel drippy-Drippy on Driveway
Two days ago my wife backed the RX8 out of the drive way to notice a rather large wet spot on the driveway. She'd noticed a fuel-smell pretty strong as she approached the car. She and I had been trying to figure out where the smell might be originating.
Now we know.
After the fuel-spot on the driveway issue, I brought the car in to the dealership. Word is, the O-Ring which seals the Fuel pump in the tank was torn. Now, I'm unsure how this would have caused spillage while the car was stationary, but it's their answer.
I pick up the car tonite and we'll see what we see. Just placing it here to document the problem. I'll post up a scan of the repair order, too - in case others have stealerships who don't wish to honor warranty work for something like this.
