Gas Leak
Hi all,
I am hoping you can help me out with a problem. Recently I smelled gas when I turned on the AC and was idling at a light. So I brought the car home and started looking around for any obvious gas leaks and could find none. However, when I have the hood up I can definately smell gas and seems to be coming from right around my altenator, but I cannot find where it is!!! If anyone could get me started in the right direction with where to look that would be very appreciated.
Thanks

Ok so I fixed it!!!!
My 04 rx8 has the "high power" engine and therefore has 4 yellow injectors on the manifold and 2 red injectors on the center cast iron, able to be seen after removal of the air box, throttle body and black plastic manifold tubes, you might as well pull the oil filler assy too!! In my case the rear red injector was leaking. For about 10 bucks I got the upper and lower insulator (rubber seal) and an O-ring for the top at the local dealer. Clean injectors, replace seals, keep dirt out of fuel rails and engine entry points, carefully position injectors and fuel rails on install. Dont forget how everything goes back together!! Tools 10 & 12 mm wrench & sockets. Have fun!
