General Questions on RPMs
Hey guys just got my RX-8, i was wondering what gear to cruise on a 35-45 mph and how many RPMs should it be on regularly to cruise. Wasn't sure on what to get it to on the rotary engine. I heard it's good to shift at around 4-5?
Again like I said just got it, if you guys could help me out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Any other important tips on it that would help the car please post!
Hope this is in the right thread..

drive it as you would any other car, just make sure you to get it into the higher RPM's from time to time; it's good for the engine.
If you're cruising at 45 mph, what gear you are in will affect RPM's quite a bit. I'd probably be in 5th or 6th at that speed if all I'm doing is cruising and don't need the extra power

i hate how everyone thinks this is such a crazy magical car that you cant drive like you drive any other car in the world..... Dude, its a car... plain and simple..... drive it like you would drive any other car in the entire world.... difference is, if you dont check the oil, its a bigger problem with this car than any other "normal" car......

I just think people are more cautious because they love their car and want everything to be perfect with it. I personally watch every little detail on my car so it runs smooth, and have yet to flood it once.

Haha thanks Speed, I would have to agree, I know it's a car, but it is new to me, and I want to make sure I do everything right. It really is just because I love it...and I would enjoy having it for a long time to come.
